As an editor and proofreader, I am thankful I used the Prime Lending Library to borrow this book rather than purchase it. The subject matter covered seems pertinent and useful, but the book does seem to have been typed up much too quickly with no editorial review, and the images are all screenshots that appear to have been done in Snagit using the ragged edge effect (which I typically like, but it's overused here).
Numerous spelling and punctuation errors made me cringe. However, I have to rate this book with 3 out of 5 stars simply because the subject matter is good reading and helpful to know.
This is a slim volume (150 pages) with scant text, screen shots taking up most of the space, and lots of white space. Does the job in covering the basics in a direct way but it looks like something that was put together in a few days for a website and then made into a book. I expected a little more in the way of explanation/insights. OK quick visual reference but not worth the $25 I paid.
Book was exactly what I was looking for. And since I needed it quickly, delivery was as promised. Chapters were brief and to the point. This is a book for those who just want to know the basics of the application. If you wish to delve deeper into the application, check out another book.
Okay...I don't disagree with the previous reviewer about this book being kinda slim on the content. However, this book is essentially laid out like a step-by-step, user training manual. Since the price has been reduced to under twenty dollars, I definitely think it's worth the price. I have an extremely limited time to purchase and learn Captivate 5.5, and this book gives me exactly what I need to achieve that goal. The other reviewer described this book as looking like it was put together in a few days. That's fine by me. ...that's a few days that I don't have to spend doing the same work!
