The book is a dialogue every entrepreneur can relate to. You have challenges in your business and sometimes you're left thinking, Am I the only one who goes through this?!? As it turns out, you're not the only one! Jon Toy writes really good examples of how challenges creep up and how to pragmatically think through solving the issue and trying to prevent it from happening again. Easy, fun read that gives you "Aha!" moments!
I picked up a copy of this book and took it to the beach. As a new small business owner this was the perfect book to reinforce ideas and create new ones. The gears are pin point accurate and can benefit any new or old business. Some books on business can be tiresome to get thru...this book is NOT like that!

A great, quick read that all small business owners should invest the time to read. Don't be fooled by the compact nature of the book as it is packed with actionable items that business owners can use as starting points for improving their businesses. The book is written as a narrative instead of a boring academic study on small businesses.
The easy to read nature of the book kept me turning the pages, but the information contained on the pages had me jotting down notes and action items. If your business is not where you want it to be, invest an afternoon and develop your own plan for success.
This book gave simple direct actionable items that most of the business owners I have worked with would benefit from. If your not doing these and start taking action you will get results ! Right now you are likely leaving profit on the table because you are not doing the simple 5 steps blended into the story. If you are a small business it is a MUST read. The book can pay for itself the first day you take action.
I am a small business owner and I've read LOT of business books. This book is a bit more fun in parable form, but Jon's use of parable format mad the information EASIER to retain - i.e. parable format was not a distraction. Sometimes, I think we business owners get too wrapped up in doing complicated things or high tech add-ons that seem easier than good old-fashioned dedication to making systems that work for us each and every day. This is just 5 things for you to do to get miles better than your competition. Thank you for a book I could immediately use to start my 2016 business improvement plan. He even provides extra content on his website to keep you on track with the improvements.

Jon Toy has done it himself and now he has come up with a unique and engaging way to explain it to busy business owners. Business books are seldom this easy to read. This book makes it easy to see how the author’s ideas can be implemented in a business.

This is an incredible, easy-to-understand, quick reading book!
Written as a story, it delivers powerful information on how to grow your business. The good stuff chapters are short & concise, there's not much beating around the bush here. In addition, the characters are fun and easy to relate to.
What's really cool in this book, you are not told, you get to EXPERIENCE the suggestions.The "chocolate experience" dessert was one of my favs!
For me, the first 20 pages were a little difficult to get involved in the story. However, once I got past that, I really enjoyed the story and got to thinking about ways to improve my business. Also, I wanted more info! What are more specific examples that we could all use? How could this apply to online businesses or non-bricks & mortar businesses?
